The Movie
The internet revolution has changed people’s lives in ways deeper than many ever thought possible. Of course, ever-connected cell phones and apps have brought great benefits to many people’s lives. However, these conveniences also have a dark side.
Recently, there has been an explosion of P2P (peer-to-peer) lending in China, where users can request small loans through simple to use cell phone apps. There are some users who request higher amounts of cash. In these instances, lenders will ask for collateral.
Particularly predatory loan sharks take advantage of younger borrowers who don’t have much experience when it comes to borrowing money. As young adults, they often don’t have much in physical possession to offer as forms of collateral. This is where lenders ask for nude photos.
Unfortunately, desperate young women are disproportionately targeted by these schemes. They are threatened by the lenders who say they will leak the nude photos to their family and friends or leak them on the internet if the loans are not repaid. Often, these loans carry heavy interest rates with them.
We feel that this is a story that needs telling. We are excited to be teaming up with award-winning American filmmaker Alastair Fairbanks for this project. We will start filming in July, in Taichung, Taiwan, and are looking to cast locals for the roles. We are driven to complete this film and submit it to international film festivals. Our Team
Alastair Fairbanks studied film at the University of Southern California. He has been recognized with various awards at film festivals for his work and continues to create and produce projects in Taiwan both commercially and creatively.
Marie Soukup has worked on commercial film projects in Taiwan prior to joining the P2P Loan production team. She has a BFA in Creative Writing and International Business from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA.
David Lee studied English in university here in Taiwan. Previously, David has worked with Alastair Fairbanks on commercial and creative projects, assisting in filming and editing, as well as translation.
Gina Tsao was an English major in university here in Taiwan. Like David Lee, Gina has also assisted Alastair Fairbanks in creative and commercial projects in the past and is excited about joining the team again for the current project.
Grace Lai is currently majoring in Tourism at Asia University, while also specializing in English and copywriting. She’s always been passionate about filmmaking and film production. Although this is her first experience with film production, she is excited to bring this story to the screen with the production team!
Cherie Chen graduated from Overseas Chinese University after studying English. “Nude Loans” has become an issue that has gradually become more and more emphasized, which makes her first production with the Exposed Team an exciting project!
Vickie Sutton received her undergraduate degree in the United States before returning to Taiwan to earn her master’s in International Communications. In the past, she has worked extensively in translation and assisted with film productions.

This is an open casting call for actors for Exposed. Acting experience is welcome, but not required. The shooting schedule is flexible and can be adjusted.
